Quebec: New Rights Adopted for Trainees in the Workplace

In line with the adoption of Bill 59, which integrated trainees into the prevention and compensation regimes provided under the Act Respecting Occupational Health and Safety and the Act Respecting Industrial Accidents and Occupational Diseases respectively, the Quebec legislator recently adopted, on Feb. 24, the Act to Ensure the Protection of Trainees in the Workplace (the Act). The following summarizes the contents of the Act.
