New Airline Rules May Affect Workers Traveling with Service Animals

Some employees bring service or emotional support animals to the workplace as a reasonable accommodation under federal and state disability laws. If those employees travel for business, employers should be aware of key changes to airline policies about traveling with such animals.

On Dec. 18, Delta Air Lines stopped allowing service or support animals that are less than four months old on its flights “due to rabies vaccination requirements,” according to the airline’s website.
