An employer coalition is urging policymakers to consider the implications for employer-provided health insurance if employees are given an option to receive coverage under a government-run health plan.
The Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage (P4ESC) sent a comment letter on July 30 to Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Chair Patty Murray, D-Wash., and House Energy and Commerce Chair Frank Pallone, D-N.J., in response to the committee chairs’ request for information on the design and development of public option health care legislation.
